The Broad Street Killer-reading
Previously, the Homers have been reading a school journal called 'The Broad Street Killer.' This journal is not about a Murderer, it's about a disease in the 19 hundreds that was called cholera. This disease was contagious and everyone thought it was being spread by the bad air, except for doctor John Snow. He thought that it was being spread by the water pump on Broad Street because that's were most of the victims lived!!! In the end Doctor Snow was right and the water pump on Broad Street got replaced! Luckily we don't have Cholera in New Zealand, but we will always remember Doctor John Snow whose name will go on forever!

To Leah,
ReplyDeleteIt sure sounds like something I would like to read!! HEHE!
But sounds really sad and a disease that were in the 19 hundreds, that was a long time ago.
What would be the first thing you would do if you got that disease?
