The Broad Street Killer-reading
Previously, the Homers have been reading a school journal called 'The Broad Street Killer.' This journal is not about a Murderer, it's about a disease in the 19 hundreds that was called cholera. This disease was contagious and everyone thought it was being spread by the bad air, except for doctor John Snow. He thought that it was being spread by the water pump on Broad Street because that's were most of the victims lived!!! In the end Doctor Snow was right and the water pump on Broad Street got replaced! Luckily we don't have Cholera in New Zealand, but we will always remember Doctor John Snow whose name will go on forever!

Seven Sharp Interview
On Wednesday Seven sharp will be interviewing Room 14 from last year about the stories 'Don't mess with these kids' by Doug Wilson. If this doesn't make scene I'll summarise it up, ROOM 14 (from last year) IS GOING TO BE ON TV!!! Doug Wilson is the lovey author behind the book. We got to know him while reading a shared novel, called Tom Hassler and the whale killers (here is the website: http://www.tomhassler.com/ ) Our book is about room 14 going on camp and a new government taking over New Zealand, and we couldn't get hold of ANYONE. In the end room 14 saves everyone, that's all I'm going to tell you, if you want to read it, it will be available on the 13th of July THIS YEAR!!! Here's a pic of the front cover:
The thing I'm looking forward to the most is being on TV, Da! ( : because then everyone will see me.

Reading-King and Country
Previously in the Homers(my reading group)we read a book called King and Country. King and Country is about a boy called Tipu. He was a Maori 18 year old and he wanted to go to war; but he was to young so his older brother Rongo (age 21) went instead. Eventually Tipu got to go to war and he found his brother Rongo, But all they did was DIG.

My colour poem
Try and infer. Can you guess what what colour I'm writing about is? Write a comment if you think you do and I'll try and reply.
My colour poem
Orange is the colour of Dad's feet when there swollen,
Orange is the colour of an Autumn leaf as soon as it gets stolen,
Orange is a flame burning up the ground,
Orange is an orange that's perfectly round,
Orange is like a traffic light telling you to slow down,
Orange is a sunset just waiting to be found.

Riding Into War-Reading Project
In the Homers we read a book called 'Riding into War'. The main character is Billy and his horse Tui. After we finished reading our novel we had to pick a reading project to do about the book 'Riding Into War'. Amelia and I choose to do a static image. Here is a picture of our project:
First we cut our picture in half, and put a circle in the middle to put a picture of Billy and Tui. We did the four settings that were most important in the book and we did two settings each. It took us at least two weeks to make this amazing project.
